Watch and Share ‘Still Honeyman

Help the public understand the daily impact of essential tremor by showing them. Our beautiful documentary, Still Honeyman, shares the story of Mark Honeyman, a retired English teacher who has lived with essential tremor for more than 45 years. It follows him on his journey as he prepares for and undergoes deep brain stimulation (DBS) surgery.

The film was created by filmmakers J.R. Heffelfinger of Runaway Horses LLC and Alex Walters of Patina Ventures LLC, in partnership with the International Essential Tremor Foundation (IETF).

The film premiered in April of 2025 drawing thousands of viewers throughout the United States and more than 40 countries. Since that time, the film has been entered into film festivals across the world to increase exposure and attract film industry attention.

Filmed over two years, this intimate narrative-documentary invites viewers into Mark and Mary Honeyman’s world with honesty, compassion, and tenderness. Their story reflects the experience of millions living with essential tremor – a condition often misunderstood, minimized, or overlooked – and reveals how courage can emerge in life’s quietest moments.

As you watch the film, help us spread awareness of the film, and in turn, essential tremor, by:

  • Liking the film on YouTube
  • Adding a comment,
  • Sharing the link with friends and family
  • Subscribing to the channel so you’ll know when new content – such as behind-the-scenes interviews or recorded Q&A sessions – are uploaded to the channel.

Order Our ET Awareness Posters

Essential tremor (ET) is commonly mistaken for Parkinson’s disease (PD). The two conditions have a tremor in common, but they have many differences.

The International Essential Tremor Foundation (IETF) has printed some 11 x 17 posters comparing the two conditions.

We are offering these posters free to increase ET awareness.

We encourage you to take them to your local library, community center, senior center, doctor’s office and other public places, and ask that they be displayed.

Share Your Personal Story

Write a blog post about how essential tremor (ET) impacts your life and what you think others should know about it. Besides educating the public, personal stories like these connect the essential tremor community together, allowing those who have it to feel understood and supported.

Blogs will be posted on the IETF website and shared on social media throughout the month of March. If you are looking for examples, we have a number of them posted on our website under “personal stories.”

Email your blog posts or questions to tammy@essentialtremor.org.
